NEW MEMBERS: The Philadelphia Chapter of the American Guild of Organists always welcomes new members. No entrance exam or tests are ever required for membership! There are a number of membership categories from which to chose, and options for additional chapter support are also available. For your dues selection you can get a voting membership in the Guild, the famous national magazine The American Organist, and our local newsletter Crescendo. The Philadelphia Chapter offers exciting events, concerts, recitals, workshops, etc. throughout the year, plus numerous social opportunities to meet and greet fellow musicians, organists, choral conductors, teachers, students etc. The Philadelphia area has one of the most thrilling lists of incredible instruments to offer, including the new Dobson organ at Verizon Hall in the Kimmel Center and the magnificent Wanamaker Organ located in Macy's center city store, just to name a few. Also, a comprehensive Chapter Membership Directory will be sent to members in good standing. Note: TAO magazine subscriptions run December through the following November. The American Guild of Organists Philadelphia Chapter’s lively concern for education and outreach previously prompted the formation of an Endowment Fund. The purpose of this fund is to expand programs for leadership development among AGO members, educate new organists, and cultivate new audiences for organ and choral music. This fund is prudently administered by the Chapter’s Endowment Committee. Tax-deductible contributions to the Endowment Fund are invested in perpetuity to produce continuing income support for the Chapter’s educational programs and projects. Contributions may be accepted in the form of cash, stocks, bonds, real estate, or other assets. You are also encouraged to consider including the AGO Philadelphia Chapter in your will and bequests. Prior consultation with your financial advisor and/or legal counsel is advised. For providing your gifts or seeking further information, please contact the Chair of the Endowment Committee by e-mail at Phil.Gehman@agophila.org.
